After your workshop we will have another 40 minute Skype/voice call to talk about how your day went and to talk through the images you produced. I have listed weekends as workshop days but I’m flexible so if you would prefer a weekday then please just ask. I am also available short notice so again please message me.

Mentoring – One to One

Experience requires years of learning. Photography like every other creative form requires you to occasionally trip up. Mentoring you is not a short cut to your learning curve but it will make the curve easier to progress through. You still have to make your mistakes, however the role of the mentor means a range of choices can be suggested for you to make your best choice based on your specific circumstances for whatever genre your shooting.   It’s also great to know there is someone who has your best interest at heart and will give you candid, honest feedback while helping you to improve both technically and creatively. Whilst there are many online courses they often lack human contact if done online.

I’m offering photography mentoring both in person and online via email and Skype. My mentoring sessions are customised to fit your specific needs and not a ‘take it or leave it’ set of modules and assignments. Maybe you have just caught the photography bug or you have been shooting for several years? Maybe your technically fine but creatively weak or maybe your shooting great images but cannot get anything published? Everyone has different needs which cannot always be addressed by the internet or reading a book or magazine so using me as your mentor we will initially discuss your objectives and work out a course designed around your specific needs.

Many of the photographers who come to me are technically fine but creatively lacking or have great vision but poor technically. You may have a solid grasp of exposure and post processing but your images lack the essential elements of emotion, atmosphere, impact and context to enable the image to communicate what your trying to say. The question is do you want to advance faster than you are with direct input from an established and experienced photographer?

Topics could include

  • –  Camera skills
  • –  Creativity and composition
  • –  Seeing and using natural light
  • – Knowing when to use flash and working in difficult low light situations
  • –  Backup strategy
  • –  Processing & Workflow
  • –  Portfolio review and development
  • –  Business Development
  • –  Website / online presence
  • –  Social Media use
  • –  Business administration and management Offering outstanding client service
  • –  Marketing and advertising
  • –  Keeping a competitive edge in a changing market

The above list may not list what your needs are. If you don’t see what you want then that’s fine. The key is that your needs are custom met.

Eight Week Mentoring

  • An initial 1 hour consultation including a portfolio review
  • Two 1 hour Skype calls taken anytime during your 6 weeks
  • A series of assignments tailor made to your needs

Price – £325 Booking – Please message me direct by filling out this contact form out.
